Presentation

Edwin is an odd young man who was in a huge trouble. Now, he is better but stilling weak, haunted by the image of a mysterious snowy painting that he cannot identify. One day, he goes with a photographer friend in the great flat of a collector in Manchester. There, he steals “by mistake” a little canvas from the 15th century.

Nobody can steal an art piece with impunity. While Edwin is wandering through museums looking for his enigmatic snowy painting, then, in desperation, all of Saint-Germain-des-Prés galleries, the aggrieved owner goes in hot pursuit…

A series of incredible adventures begins: shadowing, misunderstanding and coincidences, from auction houses to salons for Fine Arts, from Manchester to Hong-Kong, from Paris to Maastrich, Manuel Benguigui takes us into a mad race, drawing up a satiric picture of the art world.

Manuel Benguigui was born in Paris in 1976. He works in a tribal art gallery. In 2017, he published his first novel at Mercure de France, Un collectionneur allemande (rights sold: Turkey, Yapi Kredi).
